iPhone 8 Rumours Ramp-Up

Expectations are riding high on Apples major iPhone redesign planned for the Autumn of 2017, and share in Taiwanese iPhone assembler Foxconn have reached ten year highs as optimism grows.

Bloomberg have reported that Foxconn has gained a whopping 29% in the last year, and puts this all down to the new celebratory iPhone, a great boost for the Apple supplier which defied a flat mobile market.

So what are the latest specs on the new model?

  • Importantly there will be a faster A11 processor
  • Again a complete change with No home button
  • Wireless Charging is expected
  • An edge-to-edge display
  • A new glass body
  • Camera and touch ID is to be integrated into the display
  • There could be three models, one being OLED, the other two standard models

With a glass body and edge-to-edge OLED display that has an intergraded Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and a front facing camera it’s no surprise that speculation and rumors are ramping up the closer we get to Autumn.

Rumours say that Apple has been testing in excess of ten prototypes but if Apple do introduce the flexible plastic OLED rather than an LCD this would allow Apple to bring to the market a thinner smartphone that uses less power so a win, win on both counts.

The new iPhone is expected to have a 10-nanometer A11 chip that will make the device faster and also more efficient.

Planned as a 5 inch premium model the OLED iPhone sits in-between the 4.7 and 5.5 inch iPhone models with their traditional LCD screens.

Surprisingly there are still those that raise and eyebrow at the excitement that surrounds this new piece of kit, but of course this excitement and run of rumours and speculation only applies to those that love their iPhones.

What can’t be denied is that we have come to depend on our smartphones for not only the daily tasks like banking, keeping in touch with family and friends and generally browsing the internet, but increasingly we are using our smartphones for sourcing our entertainment.

In fact more people now use their smartphones to play at online casinos, place a sports bet or even enjoy a game of no deposit bingo. Convenience is the name of the game and because technology has advanced so much, and wi-fi connections are more widespread and reliable, increased numbers of people now play on their favourite games whenever and wherever they choose.

We still have a little time to wait until Apple do launch their new celebratory iPhone, and until then there will be a whole bunch of leaked rumours to whet the appetite, but like everything else it really is a waiting game.
