Euro Truck Simulator 2 – Special Transport Review

Euro Truck Simulator 2 is published and developed by SCS Software. Euro Truck Simulator 2 got released on October 18th, 2012 and received a really positive response from the community for being a relaxing and flexible experience. Euro Truck Simulator 2 is also packed with an immense amount of content, just like their other title known as American Truck Simulator. It might not be a title for everyone to enjoy, and like most games, it has some things that should be considered. Euro Truck Simulator 2 is identical to American Truck Simulator, which means that most of the mechanics and UI is pretty much the same! Euro Truck Simulator 2 is outstanding when it comes to adding more content to the game without changing what we love about it.

Just like in American Truck Simulator, there are some things you will have to do before starting your career as a trucker driving around in Europe. You will have to create a new profile and for that you will have to pick a portrait, logo and also a new name for your company and logo. Then you will have to choose your preferred driving method and it is flexible. First, you will be asked what type of controls you would like to use when you drive and then the complexity. You will be able to choose to if you would like to drive it manually or have it on automatic. Once you’ve made those decisions, the game will ask you whether you would like to go through a tutorial that will explain the very basics of the game. Once you’ve obtained the knowledge of driving a truck, you are ready for your first job!

Since you don’t own your own truck from the very beginning, you will have to pick a job and use the truck that the company will provide for you. Since it isn’t your own truck, fuel expenses will be covered by the company. Sounds great, right? You can pretty much drive around as much as you desire. The only thing that will stop you from doing so is the fact that some jobs actually have a time limit. It is important to get the job done since buying your own truck can be quite expensive at the beginning. The start of the game can be quite slow, but rather relaxing, nonetheless. You can also listen to the radio or your very own audiobook as you play! That is the main reason why Euro Truck Simulator 2 really doesn’t have a soundtrack when you drive your truck.

At the end of the day, Euro Truck Simulator 2 must be one of the most relaxing games out there. You can play it anytime of the day and still enjoy the experience it offers. When I first picked up Euro Truck Simulator 2, I was really curious to see what it really was about and I got really shocked. There are rarely any titles out there that is nearly as relaxing as Euro Truck Simulator 2!

Euro Truck Simulator 2 already provides a lot without the extra downloadable content. But when it comes to adding more downloadable content to Euro Truck Simulator 2, you might wonder whether it will be worth it. Some downloadable content really brings a lot to the table, and some might not bring as much! It is up to you to decide whether you will enjoy it!

The DLC known as “Special Transport” puts the cherry on the top when it comes to cargo jobs. It is more difficult and limited, but pays better than normal jobs. The cargo provided by the “Special Transport” DLC differs from the ordinary ones when it comes to the size and length. Since the job exceeds standard cargo regulations, the challenging part comes in when you will have to drive between two vehicles. The vehicles will make sure that you follow the route safely and keep a good pace. By any means necessary, you will have to stick between them until the very end of the job. When I mean to the very end of the job, I mean it! There will be no time for you to take a break on the side of the road. There is barely room for any mistakes and it might be unforgiving, but it adds a challenge, nonetheless.

Do you feel like the missions might be a bit too long for your liking? Well, you can actually save your file while being in the middle of one! But, bear in mind that missions on your list have an expiration date! This means that the mission will disappear if you don’t claim it within that time span. You might wonder how punishing it could be with the missions disappearing like that? It really isn’t a big deal since you will have access to another mission from the “Special Transport” DLC. So basically, just do them at your own pace!

In the end, I really think that the “Special Transport” DLC is a great way to experience the more difficult sides of Euro Truck Simulator 2! I would highly recommend picking up the “Special Transport” DLC if you are up for the challenge! It is after all a high-risk and high-reward sort of thing!
