POWGI like their letter games, with the latest being Crossovers by POWGI. Previous titles include Mixups by POWGI, Word Wheel by POWGI, Word Sudoku by POWGI and Word Search by POWGI. Hopefully, Crossovers by POWGI can be the best of the bunch and contain some new features to help expand the brand.

In Crossovers by POWGI, there are 200 puzzles in total. Each puzzle starts off with a set of between four to eight crosswords. There are four letters to choose from to complete the crossword, once you do you move onto the next. The letters used to complete these smaller crosswords will then form the word which is required to complete the puzzle. There will be a clue at the top left of the screen which is meant to help decipher the word needed to move on. That’s pretty much it with Crossovers by POWGI, solve some small crosswords then use the relevant letters to form a word.

The initial crosswords are all filled in besides one letter. You have a choice of four letters to use. There are no penalties for choosing the wrong letter or time limits imposed. Depending on how serious you take it, depends on what you want to get out of Crossovers by POWGI. You can simply randomly choose a letter, sometimes you will get it correct first time and sometimes it will be the fourth and final time. The most challenging aspect of each puzzle is the word you have to make from the anagram at the end. The clues like a normal crossword insinuate what it should be, sometimes a word in the clue will mean something similar to the answer and sometimes the answer is already in the clue. For example one clue is “Box of Keys”, the answer is piano whilst another clue is “Attractive” and the answer is magnet.

I’ve highlighted the fact before that it is difficult to review games like Crossovers by POWGI. This could easily be a side game in a larger game, there isn’t much to add after explaining how Crossovers by POWGI is played. As I’ve mentioned in previous POWGI titles, there is no multiplayer which is a shame, as Crossovers by POWGI would be a great game to play against in the same room or online, but unfortunately that functionality is not present. Crossovers by POWGI is a game that would benefit from a high score board, one that is local or online but again that isn’t something Crossovers by POWGI has. Crossovers by POWGI doesn’t even keep a record of how quickly you completed a puzzle or how many letters you used.

Graphically, Crossovers by POWGI is very simple, just a variation of a white, grey and black colour scheme. With so little happening on screen the puzzles are very large in size so you won’t struggle reading the letters or clues. There’s a little cute dog who appears at the end of each level with some words or wisdom or gibberish, it doesn’t appear to change what it says based on your performance. Musically, Crossovers by POWGI has some high tempo music to help plod along, you may recognise one tune as the Sex and The City theme tune. Crossovers by POWGI is an addictive game, but not because it’s engrossing, Crossovers by POWGI will ignite the completionist inside you.

Crossovers by POWGI, just like’s predecessors, is fairly simple puzzle game. There are points where the words can become challenging to unravel, especially the 8 letter words, but nothing to get frustrated about. If you enjoy crosswords and anagrams, then Crossovers by POWGI will provide you with roughly 2-3 hours entertainment, if not then Crossovers by POWGI will not change your mind. It’s more of the same from POWGI, so you’ll know what your’e getting with Crossovers by POWGI. Oh, by the way, it’s quite easy to attain the Platinum trophy in Crossovers by POWGI too.
